Spots and Dots

I haven't posted in forever and there's really no real reason why. My love for all things fashion remain, but I found that I find more joy in reading fashion related magazines, articles and blogs than posting myself. I did promise that I will try and post my daily outfits and fashion lusts again, if nothing else, to keep a diary for myself. I think it's a good outlet for me and helps me see how I can style pieces in different ways, be creative and have fun with my own wardrobe. Here's a recent outfit that I thought was super cute. I'm loving polka dots and leopard prints recently so I tried to work them together subtly. I adore this skirt and was so happy when I found it on sale at H&M for $20!

Maxi skirt for Fall

A look I'm loving right now is the maxi dress/skirt and how it's being styled for Fall. I've seen it in magazines, blogs and on some real ladies in NYC and decided to give it a try. I usually steer clear of maxi dresses/skirts since I'm only 5' (yep, I said it, 5' and no inches) but I figured with a great pair of tall boots or wedges, maybe I could pull it off. Here's my take on it and I paired my maxi skirt, which I picked up last summer at NY & Company with one of my favorites, stripes! ( and that's my other favorite, my doggie Louie!)

Loving (faux) Leather

Just wanted to make a quick post of my outfit from last night. Hubby and I headed to the city for some drinks and dancing for a good friend's bday. I wanted my look to be a little edgy since we were heading downtown, so decided to wear my new faux leather mini I picked up from F21. I must say, for about $20 it was a great buy. The skirt is fully lined and not a light, flimsy material and does not look shiny or plastic looking at all. I paired it with a silky racerback black and white tank I picked up at Target, added opaque black tights and my Me Too black booties, some accessories of course and BAM, ready for a night out on the town! I also decided to be a little daring and wear my most favorite MAC red lipstick called Ruby Woo. Sorry for the fuzzy pic.

Have a great, rest of the weekend!

Beauty Buys

I'm trying to catch up since I haven't posted in the last few days and have been busy with work as well as checking out what's in stores and getting ready for Fall (even though it's been in the upper 80's here in NYC). I've picked up a few new pieces which I'll share in the next few days/weeks, but I'm always sure to buy some new nail colors and blush for Fall. Not only do our wardrobes have to change season to season, but our beauty regimen needs to be tweeked a bit too. I headed over to MAC to pick up a new blush for Fall. I was currently wearing another blush from MAC but it was definitely more on the Spring/Summer side, as it was a peachy/coraly color. I absolutely loved how it looked with tan skin. Now that I'm getting back to my semi pale self, I decided to get back to a warmer more rose, mauve color. As usual, MAC came through for me and I picked up this awesomely lovely color shimmer blush form them. It's called Breezy and just perfect! It's the perfect shade and has a hint of shimmer which gives the color some depth. I wore it for the first time today and LOVE it! It made my whole face light up and gave me a certain ....glow. The color probably won't transcend as well in these pics, but I would definitely recommend checking this out if your looking for a new blush.

I also picked up this super cheapie nail color ($1.99 in Duane Reade) that I really dig. It's an almost black color with a hint of green shimmer. So subtle, yet makes all the difference.
