H&M Garden Collection: Reviews

Hello All!

I headed to H&M on Friday to check out the Garden Collection and pick up a few pieces I was eyeing and loved the colors and vibrancy of the collection. Some of the dresses I had seen in ads, were very pretty but the fabric was so light and sheer, I couldn't possibly see how I could wear it to work and it be appropriate. If you don't know already, I'm all about versatility. I like my wardrobe to go from work, to night to weekend. First I picked up this floral print top. So pretty, with ruffle detailing and the sleeves and a drawstring right under the bust to cinch you in. I noticed this line runs much bigger than H&M's normal clothing. I usually get anywhere from a 6-10 in H&M but had to pick up a 4 in this top. Take a look:

$17.95

I also picked up this tank which I would definitely suggested sizing down. I had to take an XS in this one. It's a relaxed fit, but soo pretty.

$17.95

This dress is so pretty and one of the dresses in the collection that is lined so no see through with this one. The ruffles make it fun and flirty but I think I am going to belt this to tame some of the fullness at the bottom since I am a girl with a booty!

$29.95

And lastly, my most favorite item of the collection, is this super cute floral bustier. OMG, I love this. It looks so sexy on and the fit is great. Fabric stretches and has molded cups. I love this!

$14.95

I hope everyone else headed to H&M and got their garden fix! I know I'll go back in the week and take a second look around in case I missed something ;)

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of your weekend and happy shopping!!

Just a quick OOTD

Hello All!

Happy hump day! I always enjoy the end of the work day on Wednesday because I can just smell the weekend it's so close. I kept it simple today. It's been quite chilly in NYC this week, a real change from last weeks weather, which is unfortunate. It's so hard to dress for this in between weather. Here's what I through together.

Blazer- H&M
Pants- H&M Skinny Pant
Shirt- Ruffle tank Express
Shoes- Inc & Co. Macy's
Necklace- F21

Can't wait for the launch of the garden collection at H&M tomorrow. Not sure I'll be able to make it tomorrow, but definitely friday or over the weekend. Happy Shopping!

A few new additions to my Spring buys!

Hello All!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend and start to the work week. We went from lovely sunny and warm weather last week, to chilly and wet weather this week. It's supposed to improve tomorrow and we may see the sun so I'm looking forward to that. Just when I was getting ready to break out the Spring duds too. I ordered a few new things yesterday that I wanted to share. They were all on sale and I had a $25 discount, so no feeling guilty here :)

I LOVE this jacket. The color is great and is perfect for the nude, blush neutral tones that are in trend this season. I feel like I could wear this for seasons to come as well since it's such a versatile color. I have a black faux leather motorcycle jacket from NY & co that I bought a few months ago, and the quality and fit were great. It's a slightly different style than this one and get soo many compliments on it and no one thinks it's faux leather. I'm hoping this one lives up to those expectations as well.

Faux Leather Motorcycle jacket in Taupe- $62.95 NY & Company

I thought this dress was super cute and comfy looking. I ordered it in a navy stripe but they didn't have a pic of that color on their site. I have a boatneck nautical stripe shirt and have been looking for a dress. I think I can style this for work or just running errands on the weekends.

Nautical Stripe dress in Navy- $19.95 NY & Company

I've always loved shirt dresses and thought this one looked pretty cute. Although, I must say, I am having second thoughts on the print. I may exchange it for a more Spring like color when I receive it. I hope it fits as well in real life.

East Side Shirt Dress - $29.95 NY & Company

I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and I hope to be back to posting OOTD tomorrow. Happy Shopping!

Happy Friday!

Hello All!

TGIF! This week has been a good one and even better since the weather was beautiful. We had another day of 70 degree weather and I can't get enough! We're supposed to have a beautiful weekend before we go back to colder temps next week. Thursday started GAP Give and Get F&F 30% off promotion and I hope everyone is taking advantage. I'm sad to report that I was not impressed with what was in stores. I went to Banana Republic first and nothing really wowed me. The clothes were mostly boring and didn't say Spring to me. I did happen to find a super cool pair of aviator sunglasses that were a close match to Ray Ban's. I've been wanting a pair of Ray Ban's for a while and these were half the price. With my 30% discount, they came out to about $50!

Shawn Sunglasses - $68 Banana Republic

My next stop was the Gap and all I can say is....BOOOOOOORING. I just didn't love anything they had. There wasn't much variety, everything looked the same and once again, nothing said Spring is in the air to me. I left the Gap empty handed.

I decided to give Old Navy a try today after work and I've seen all these ads and commercials of super cute, flirty, spring dresses and skirts and vibrant colors and just knew I would be leaving with some purchases and ...nope, nothing. To be honest, the dresses and skirts looked way to casual to wear to work and the material and fit looked cheap and frumpy. A lot of stuff I saw on line just wasn't in store or didn't live up to my expectation. I was soo disappointed. Maybe this was a sign I shouldn't have been shopping? Naaahhh :)

After my unsuccessful shopping trips, I decided to come home, hit the gym and then take out my bins of Spring and Summer clothes and see what I can work with. It was like shopping without spending money! I realized a have a lot of good skirts, dresses to start Spring off right! I plan on laying low this weekend and just soaking up some sun and warmth on the porch or in the backyard. If I decide to head to the mall and find any good deals and buys, I'll be sure to share. I'll leave you with my OOTD.

Jacket- Military Blazer F21
Skirt- Banana Republic
Boots-Jessica Simpson Angie Boots
Belt- GAP (I think)

Have a great weekend and Happy Shopping!

Everything is coming up flowers!!

Hello All!

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and the start to the work week. After miserable weather here in NY, the rain finally stopped and the sun emerged as well as milder weather. It was a gorgeous day today and felt like Spring! I decided to bring out the florals and wear my new F21cardigan. I ordered this cardigan a couple of weeks ago from their Twist Line and it is just the cutest! It made me feel girly and pretty all day. I definitely recommended sizing up in anything from this line, as I got a medium and it fit perfectly. Take a look at my OOTD:

What I'm Wearing:
Cardigan- F21
Skirt- The Limited
Tights- GAP
Shoes- Mia Gigi
Cami- Express ruffle tank

Today was also a great day because I finally received the bag I ordered from TopShop a week ago. It's my Chanel inspired bag and it's the cutest! I was happy that it looked just as good IRL as it did online. The chain strap and bag seem really sturdy and the material is not too shiny or plastic-y looking. It's also much roomier than I thought it would be. I also love that the lining is leopard print! Take a look:

Another super score for me today, was this super cute pair of shoes I found at Banana Republic for $21.97! Yes, I said $21.97! They are a taupe suede peep toe platform sandal and so comfy. It's a pretty high heel but the platform makes them totally wearable and the sole has extra padding for comfort. I don't know where these lovelies were all a long, but I was at the right place and the right time and I'm sooo happy!

This week is starting off just right and I'm looking forward to tomorrow and my weekly Wednesday 40% off purchase at Banana Republic. I wonder what tomorrow will bring me??? Until then, Happy Shopping and I'll be sure to share my buy for tomorrow!

Friday's OOTD

Hello All!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far. It's been super rainy and stormy here in the tri state area, but it hasn't completely ruined the weekend. Yesterday, we headed to Brooklyn to visit with family and had such a nice time. Today, I'm just taking it easy and relaxing. I wanted to post my OOTD from Friday since I didn't have a chance to. Friday after work, me and my co workers got together to celebrate another coworker's baby shower. We had a really good time! Check out what I wore.

What I'm Wearing:
Dress- Anna Sui for Target
Blazer- Boyfriend Blazer NY & Co.
Boots- Jessica Simpson Angie Boots
Leggings- H&M

I hope this rainy weather ends soon and we go back to the sunny, mild weather from last week. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and Happy Shopping!

Peep toes, Platforms, Clogs....OH MY!

Hello All!

It's hump day and only 2 more days until the weekend! I can't wait. We've had a great week so far of lovely weather and it's had me dreaming and thinking of getting into sandals. With so many cute trends in shoes this Spring, I wanted to post of few I've been eyeing.

Dolce Vita Manny Sandal

Charles David Meghan Platform

Guess Boardy Peep toe Pump

I jumped on the platform clog trend for this Spring/Summer and picked up my first pair today. I headed to Banana Republic today to use my 40% off coupon and found the cutest pair of clog sandals. These shoes are fab! The color is not exactly gray and not exactly a camel color, sort of like a putty color. It's suede, super soft and sooo comfy! They fit true to size for me and are cushioned for extra comfort. The heel height is also comfortable to walk in. These are going to be my IT shoe this Spring/Summer! Not to mention, they were $98 and with my coupon, came to $58! These are not listed online as of yet, but are available in store. I'm going to check a larger Banana Republic this weekend because if they come in other colors, I would definitely get another pair. Take a look at my new lovelies!

Banana Republic Rosita Platform peep toe Clog

This 40% off one item at BR is the best promotion they have ever run. I wonder what next week will bring me???! Happy Shopping!

I heart Ronson....no, really I do.

Hello All!

It's another lovely weather day here in NYC and I am taking full advantage, wearing pretty colors and flirty dresses. Today, I decided to wear a dress I actually bought several months ago from the I <3 Ronson Collection at JC Penney. I know, it sounds like a very young line, and yes, some pieces are but when I saw this dress I fell in love with the colors, texture and ruffle details. The dress is a soft purple color but then mixes in shades of plum, nay and gray. The material is so soft and flowy and perfect for a beautiful day like today. Since it's still a little chilly in the morning and not quite bare legs weather yet, I wore gray tights and a pair of ankle boots I also bought a while ago and have never worn. The print on the dress kind of reminds me of a peacock. Take a look:

What I'm Wearing:
Dress- I <3 Ronson for JC Penney
Cardigan-Kensie
Tights-H&M
Boots- Mudd at Kohl's

I look forward to one more day of mild temps and sun before rain moves in. I'll be back tomorrow with another OOTD. Until then, Happy Shopping!

Oh what a lovely day!

Hello All!

Today was an absolutely lovely weather day in NYC! It was in the 60's and sunny and I couldn't get enough. Too bad I only spent about 30 minutes enjoying the mild weather today, but I look forward to 2 more days of it. Just a quick post of my OOTD. I felt really girly and pretty today and am proud to say the dress I'm wearing is a size 4! I've been working out really hard over the last few months and it paid off.

Fashion Police: The Oscars!

Hello All!

Just wanted to make a quick post to review the beautiful fashions last night at the Oscars. I love watching the red carpet to see all of the stars arrive and of course, to see what & who they wore. I was pleasantly surprised this year and had very few dresses that I hated. I think the stars hit it dead on this year and their seemed to be a metallic trend on the carpet. A lot of gold and shine! Here's my favorite looks from last night:

Likely, my most favorite look of the night, was Jennifer Lopez in a pale pink Armani Prive' gown. This gown was excuisite. The detailing, the bodice and the draping were just right on! It fit her perfectly and accentuating all the right places.

Another, similar look, was Amanda Seyfried in a pale mint colored Armani Prive' gown encrusted in swarovski crystals. The gown was gorgeous! I loved the bangles she paired with this as well.

Next, is Carmen Diaz in a lovely gold Oscar de la Renta gown. I need not say anymore. This man clearly knows how to fit a woman's body perfectly. This gold tone fit her skin tone and hair color so well. She looked great!

Staying on the gold tone path, is Miley Cyrus in a gold, bustier top, Jenny Pakham gown. I thought Miley looked really pretty and age appropriate. I'm not the biggest Miley fan and sometimes feel like she dresses older than she should but this time she hit it dead on.

Here's Nicole Richie in a beaded, 60's Reem Acra gown. This dress was perfect for Nicole and stayed true to her boho chic style.

Meryl Streep in a long sleeved, Chris March gown. This dress was super hot! I thought Merly looked amazing in this dress. It fit her like a glove, was age appropriate but still sexy and she looked great in white.

I loved this water color, flowy Elie Saab Haute Couture gown Rachel McAdams wore. The colors are beautiful, the crossing at the bust into the waist are prefect and so flattering.

This isn't my favorite look on Kate Winslet, but I absolutely love her so I had to include her in my list. She's wearing a champagne coloredYSL gown. The bustier top, really flatters her.

Here's a few of my honorable mentions:

Charlize Theron in a Christian Dior gown. I wasn't sure how I felt about this dress. From the back and side I thought it was gorgeous but the strange, cupped breasts detailing threw me off a little. But hey, it's Charlize Theron, she is gorgeous and can never look bad in my book.

Maggie Gylenhaal in a blue brushstroke Dries van Noten gown.

Penelope Cruz in a fire red Donna Karan gown.

Queen Latifah in a pale lavender, beaded Badgley Mischka couture gown. She looked amazing! The fit was gorgeous and so flattering on her figure. The color looked great on her skin tone as well.

Lastly, was a look I'm still on the fence about. I'm not sure if I love this or absolutely hate it. Zoe Saldana definitely took a risk with this runway couture gown by Givenchy. The bustier top and ruffled bottom were edgy but a little poodle meets cha cha dancer like as well. It was a lot going on.

That's all for my 2010 Oscar fashion reviews. Once again, I was really happy and loved a lot of the looks. Most stars looked exactly that, like glamorous stars! I'll be posting my OOTD later tonight.

Some IRL pics of my BR trench!

Hello All!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! The weather here in NYC and the tri state is lovely. It's sunny and mild and we definitely needed this weather after all the cold and snow we've had. Yesterday was a productive day for me. I headed to the gym with hubby for a good workout and we ended up signing up for personal training sessions that start next weekend. I've really tried to stay committed to this working out thing and I'm seeing the pay offs. Since June, when I joined the gym, I've lost 8lbs! I have about 4-5 more lbs to go and I think once I start working with the trainer, they will fly off. I'm super excited because I'm a MAJOR UFC fan and our trainer is training to be a UFC fighter, so he'll be training us with kick boxing and self defense techniques. He showed me some moves yesterday and I lasted all of about 10 minutes. It was so sad but such a work out. It worked parts of my body I never have before. I'm super excited and can't wait!

Now, on to the pics of my lovely BR trench. As I recently posted, I picked it up on Wednesday and am IN LOVE with this trench! It is just the perfect, classic trench and the fit is TO DIE for! Without further ado, here's the pics:

I totally recommend this trench to anyone who doesn't already have a classic trench for Spring. I'm sure you would love it as much as I do. Well, enjoy the rest of the weekend and I'll be back tomorrow posting my OOTD. Happy Shopping!
